New international medical program for expatriates starting January 1, 2010
July 15, 2009 | Leave a Comment
The CIGNA International medical program will replace the Humana national PPO program for all expatriates on January 1, 2010. In addition, those still enrolled with Blue Cross of
California’s indemnity plan while living outside of the country will also be moved over to the CIGNA International medical program on January 1st. If you are currently on expatriate assignment there is nothing you need to do, and you will automatically be enrolled into the new international program for medical and dental on January 1, 2010. You will be receiving a new medical ID card and plan booklet by December 1, 2009.
If you will not be in your host country on December 1, 2009 and do not plan to return to the host country until January, we can make arrangements to have your medical ID card and the new insurance information sent to an alternative address. Please contact Samantha Garland in Corporate Global Mobility.
If you do not participate in open enrollment, you and your family, using your existing elections for medical and dental will be automatically moved into the new medical plan on January 1st. As an expatriate, you are not required to login to the open enrollment web-based system (continued)

Welcome to the Expatriate Portal
July 15, 2009 | Leave a Comment
This portal was built for our international assignees (U.S. and non-U.S. expatriates) working outside of their home country anywhere in the world. (We have included a special section for foreign nationals working in the U.S.)
ABCompany invests in the success of our international assignees. The ABCompany Expatriate Resource Center in Kansas City has created this website as a single resource for everything you will need to know about your expatriate assignment. Please review the FAQ section often, as it will be updated as common questions are presented from the field.
This site will serve as a reminder about upcoming events and other important topics that will affect most of you. Please review the Expatriate Policy and Procedures manual at least once a year. It spells out exactly what the company is provided during your expatriate assignment and what your own responsibilities are regarding expenses and insurance during your international assignment. For example, it is your responsibility to make sure you secure personal property and liability insurance for you and your family before your household goods arrive in your host country.
Please log into the homepage at least once a week for important notes and reminders. Posts and updates will be organized by topic, and these articles will be archieved by topic so you can go back and reference them again if you need to.
